Dekko Window Systems, the leading Deceuninck, and Residence collection fabricator, brought together installers from the four corners of the UK for an informative customer conference that showcased the new products Dekko will be launching the next few months. The conference was hosted by Dekko supplier Eclectic Systems and included a series of key-note speakers, each of whom gave useful business advice to Dekko’s customers.
The day kicked off with Andrew Scott, Managing Director of Purplex Marketing, who discussed some of the sales and marketing strategies installers need to engage with today’s savvy consumer. Andrew highlighted the success of premium brands and pointed out how installers could take advantage of this with high-end products such as Residence 9.
Andrew was followed by Lee Marriott, Sales Manager Eclectic Systems, who gave a presentation about Residence 9, the flush sash window system designed with heritage properties in mind. Lee discussed how Eclectic Systems developed the window and how it has since gained approval in numerous conservation areas.
The latest innovations from Deceuninck and Kömmerling were brought to installers’ attention by Roy Frost, Deceuninck’s Managing Director, and Kevin Warner, Kömmerling Sales Director. Roy talked about the Monorail Patio Door and Colour 360, the frame that is coloured on all four sides including the rebate. After giving a brief overview of Kömmerling’s history, Kevin presented AluStar, the aluminium clad PVCu window based on Kömmerling’s C70 Gold system, which will be produced by Dekko later this year.
Attendees were given an overview of the Minimum Technical Competence (MTC) by Tim White, National Sales Manager for Consumer Protection Association (CPA). Tim also presented FastTrack, a unique service which comprises four modules: Sales, Knowledge, Protection and Legislation. Paul Atherton, owner of Stressless Sales, gave the attendees tips on how to improve their conversion rates, stressing that potential customers are more interested in what’s in it for them, rather than the technical details of a product.
Sam Cross, Purplex Senior Account Manager concluded the day with a presentation about Purplex Advantage, a marketing support package created to help installers build their brand, generate leads and grow their business.
To their customers’ delight, Dekko animated the day with a series of exciting prize draws. Winners took home a Residence 9 showroom sample offered by Eclectic Systems, an iPad – courtesy of Deceuninck, a pack of four one-hour Skype coaching sessions with Paul Atherton, the owner of Stressless Sales, a digital camera from Kömmerling, an experience voucher offered by CPA and a series of highly-targeted drop cards from Purplex Marketing.
Kurt Greatrex, Sales Director for Dekko said: “The purpose of the open day was to make our customers aware of the new products available from Dekko and to hopefully provide them with some useful information that they can apply to their business. The day was a complete success and I would like to thank all customers that took time out of their busy schedules to be here today. I’d also like to thank all the speakers for the information they have provided as well as for their support with our prize draw.”
One attendee, Angus McCubbin, Sales and Marketing Manager Panoramic Windows, said: “This was a very informative day with excellent speakers. We learned a lot and were very impressed with the new products available from Dekko – it was certainly worthwhile attending.”
