In today’s rapidly changing market, innovation has never been more important.
With a cost of living crisis firmly upon us and a looming recession waiting in the wings, consumers are reining in their spending – standard windows and doors are not on their list of spending priorities right now, creating an obvious problem for the industry.
So how do we persuade the end user to invest?
I firmly believe the answer lies in innovation – if you offer your customers something they can’t refuse, or get elsewhere, you’re bound to get ahead.
And in today’s market, it’s the lure of a good design that’s going to hook homeowners. Give them something new and exciting, and they’ll be more likely to invest in their homes, even during tough times.
At Dekko, we’ve prided ourselves on constant product development, honing our offerings to match ever-changing consumer trends and advances in technology.
It’s why earlier this year, we entered into a multi-million pound exclusivity agreement with Haffner, working with the leading machinery expert to develop a truly unique and inspiring product – a fully seamless window.
This world-first offering was first unveiled at this year’s FIT Show, and comes complete with transoms and mullions, as well as cruciforms and reverse butt welding, achievable only with Haffner’s new Graf Synergy machine, which we will soon have fully installed in our factory.
The Italian made machinery is well known for its world class seamless welding technology and patented welding techniques, increasing both fabrication efficiencies and delivering superior product quality – and an extremely good investment.
Another way Dekko has embraced innovation is by investing in smart technology and teaming up with Kubu in order to offer the new seamless window with smart security sensors, providing security and lifestyle smart alerts through the dedicated Kubu app.
Popularity of smart tech in the home has spiked rapidly in recent years, with many devices on the market providing entertainment, convenience, and security at the touch of a button, and so pairing the new seamless window with smart tech was the next obvious innovation.
In fact, Dekko was one of the original launch partners for Kubu, and since 2019, it has come as a standard feature on our PVC and composite entrance doors.
And as one of the most advanced and reliable smart tech companies in the fenestration industry, we decided to work with them again in bringing our brand new window to the market.
It means that our new smart window not only boasts a fully seamless sash, the first of its kind in the market, but also offers the latest in smart home tech, creating a truly innovative product that will help our installer customers get ahead of the competition.
Innovation and technology are certainly reshaping the fenestration industry, and at Dekko, we’ve always prided ourselves on focusing on more than just our own day-to-day objectives as a business.
With several product investments over the years, we’ve got a long track record of helping drive the industry forward, and our partnership with Haffner has really allowed us to innovate further – and smarter.
Their state-of-the-art Graf Synergy machine has made it possible for us to manufacture the new seamless window, offering a truly innovative product, and positioning Dekko as a leading and forward-thinking manufacturer.
With energy costs through the roof, the cost of living at an all time high, and the Bank of England recently unveiling its biggest interest rate rise in more than 30 years, we’re all facing challenges in the years ahead – and the fenestration industry is of course no different.
But I firmly believe that with the right strategic investments, careful planning, and a commitment to innovation, we can all get – and stay – ahead.
I also believe that there are many opportunities ahead, and by investing in manufacturing high-performing, aesthetically pleasing products that get end users excited, the bigger the opportunity.
Our new seamless window has been one of Dekko’s most successful innovations to date, and has certainly opened the door to a thriving and successful future.
