In June 2016, Dekko managing director Gary Torr is taking part in the GM Fundraising Border2Border Cycling Challenge, an event which is proudly sponsored by our PVC-u profile supplier Deceuninck.
The aim of the challenge is to raise much needed funds for Hope House Children’s Hospices, a charity that offers a wide range of services for life limited children and their families.
The ride, which is being billed ‘the toughest yet’ from GM Fundraising, will take place over 11 days and will span 2,016 miles between Vancouver, Canada and Tijuana, Mexico, and will offer up more than 92,000 feet of climbing with temperatures in excess of 40 degrees. In preparation for the gruelling event, Gary recently completed an intense five-day training camp in Mallorca, covering 300 miles and 17,000 feet of climbing.
Gary commented: “Hope House provides a wide range of care and support services, all of which are delivered by a team experienced doctors, nurses and other care professionals. It is a fantastic charity and one that I am delighted to support.”
To make a donation, simply visit Gary’s Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/torrb2b
Every donated penny goes directly to Hope House. Travel, food and accommodation costs are paid by the team individuals, so you can be confident your donation will not be diluted in any way. By selecting Gift Aid, a further 25% will be added to your donation.
Sales director Kurt Greatrex concluded: “On behalf of everyone at Dekko, I’d like to wish Gary and the rest of the GM Fundraising team the very best of luck.”
