Dekko open dedicated Residence 9 factory

Following the immense success of their newly launched Residence 9 (R9) flush sash window, Dekko Window Systems have opened a new factory dedicated to Residence 9 production. The new factory measures 6,000 sq ft and will enable Dekko to increase output and satisfy the strong customer demand. Dekko’s original 28,000 sq ft factory will be used to manufacture their Deceuninck PVCu windows and doors.
Dekko’s sales director Kurt Greatrex comments: “When we launched R9 at the beginning of the year we started fabricating the product in our main factory alongside our existing range. This was absolutely fine at the time, but it soon became clear we would need additional space to keep up with the strong customer demand. Fortunately, there was a vacant site in nearby Oldham so we bought it and moved in. It’s proved an excellent decision – production is running smoothly at both sites and our customers are continuing to benefit from the excellent service they have become accustomed to.”
Dekko are currently producing 300 R9 windows and doors per month, a figure that is continuing to grow, and as a by-product, sales of the company’s Deceuninck and Kömmerling windows have also increased.
“Since launching R9 we have come into contact with a number of installers we’ve never dealt with before” Kurt explains. “Several have been so delighted with R9 and the service they’ve received from Dekko they’ve switched over to us as their primary trade supplier.”
R9 is a mechanically jointed flush sash casement window with a matching glazed, French and composite door. It is manufactured with a 9 chambered composite profile system and can achieve an impressive 0.8 U-Value when paired with a 44mm triple glazed IGU.
R9 incorporates a number of authentic features – including traditional butt hinges, monkey tail and pear drop handle options – and is available in 11 colours plus 35 mixed colour combinations. Unlike some other R9 windows on the market, Dekko’s astragal bars have the same depth as the bead, further enhancing the 19th-century look.
